office remodel | boulder co

I'm just wrapping up an office renovation project for a friend/client. She is one of those "dream clients". She is the super busy owner/manager of an insurance business with a great, hard working office team here in Boulder. With little time in her schedule, she put me to work and let me run with the project.

The challenge: update and refresh her leased office suite, watching the budget on the non-transferable finishes (flooring, paint, window coverings).

Here are a few before shots of her office suite space:

Entrance/office lobby area:

Hallway leading to offices:

The wood doors had yellowed over the years. The body paint was a warm beige and the trim a high gloss black.

It was time to go to work.

Paint: We repainted the walls with an off white Benjamin Moore Swiss Coffee to brighten and update the space. We painted the trim and the doors with Benjamin Moore Wrought Iron, a very dark grey and lost the high gloss finish.

Flooring: We replaced the existing carpet with a wood look luxury vinyl plank in the lobby area, halls and common areas. To watch the budget, new carpet was laid in the individual offices. Typically LVP is about twice the cost of carpet.

What a difference!

Now onto furnishings.

I wanted to change out this corner shelf with something more fun and modern that better fit the space.

I found this corner shelf at Homegoods ($60).

My client wanted the lobby area to serve as a comfortable waiting area and lose the large reception desk.

For furnishings we went with this sofa from Target:

Coffee table from West Elm:

Loved this natural woven rug from Surya for the lobby:

Found this cute faux floor plant at World Market:

and throw pillows from West Elm and Four Hands.

For the walls, we removed the old dark plaques in the hallway and hung gallery framed photos of the staff.

Frames from CB2.

We are still working on solar shades for the windows and a few last accessories, but this project is almost a wrap.

Meanwhile, hunkering down in a rainy Savannah, GA while visiting my daughter at college. Happy Super Bowl weekend!
